Privacy Policy

1. Who this policy is from

This policy explains how FORMWORK (SMC-PRIVATE) LIMITED (“Formwork”, “we”, “us”) handles personal information in connection with the website at formwork.cc. We are registered in Lahore, Pakistan; our full statutory details are on our legal page.

It covers this website only. Information handled under any service agreement we enter into with you is governed by that contract, which we will explain before you commit to anything.

2. What we collect

Information you choose to send us

If you contact us — by the form on our contact page, by email, or by telephone — we receive whatever you decide to tell us: usually your name, your company, an email address or telephone number, and your message.

The form on our contact page has no server behind it. Submitting it opens your own email application, and nothing is sent until you send it. Your message reaches us as ordinary email.

Technical information

Like any website, formwork.cc is served by infrastructure that records standard request logs: an IP address, the time, the page requested, and the browser's user-agent string. We use these only to keep the site available and to investigate faults or abuse.

What this site does not do

We want to be specific, because “we value your privacy” is not a commitment. This website:

• sets no cookies of its own;
• runs no analytics, advertising, or visitor-tracking scripts;
• uses no browser storage of any kind, including local and session storage;
• contains no chat widget, tag manager, or embedded third-party tracker;
• does not build a profile of you or attempt to identify you across sites.

If we ever introduce measurement, we will update this list first, and keep it to aggregate figures that do not identify individual visitors.

3. Cookies, and why there is no cookie banner

This site sets no cookies at all — not essential ones, not analytics ones, not advertising ones. It also writes nothing to local storage or session storage, and it runs no fingerprinting.

Because nothing is stored on or read from your device beyond what is strictly necessary to send you the page you asked for, there is nothing for you to consent to and nothing for you to configure. That is why you are not being shown a consent banner. A banner offering choices that do not exist would be theatre, and it would train you to dismiss the ones that matter elsewhere.

There are no cookie preferences to set. If that ever changes — if we introduce any measurement that stores or reads anything on your device — we will ask for your consent before it runs, not after, and we will not treat continuing to browse as agreement.

4. Third-party services this site relies on

None, for content. Every asset on this site — stylesheet, script, images, and the typeface itself — is served from our own domain. Your browser is not asked to contact any other company in order to display this page, so no third party learns your IP address, and no external service can observe your visit.

This is deliberate. Loading a font or a script from a third-party network makes your browser disclose its IP address to that network on every page view, which is a transfer of personal data whether or not a cookie is involved. We removed that by hosting the typeface ourselves.

The only companies involved at all are our hosting provider, which serves the site and processes the request logs described above, and our email provider, which carries any message you send us. Both act on our instructions.

5. Why we use your information

We use what you send us to reply, to assess whether we can help, and to keep a record of our correspondence. Technical logs keep the site secure. We do not use your information for advertising, sell it, or enrich it with bought data.

6. How long we keep it

Correspondence is kept while the conversation it belongs to is live, and for up to twenty-four months afterwards, so we can pick up a thread that resumes. Where a message forms part of a commercial record we are required to retain, we keep it for the period the law requires. Hosting request logs are short-lived.

7. Who we share it with

Nobody. We do not disclose your information to any third party for commercial purposes, and no partner receives it under any arrangement.

Two practical exceptions. Our email and hosting providers process information in the course of delivering those services to us, under obligations of confidentiality. And we will disclose information where required by law, a court, or a competent regulator — and then only what is required.

8. Your rights and how to exercise them

You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or copy it, or ask us to delete it. Write to hello@formwork.cc with “Data request” in the subject line.

We will respond within thirty days, at no charge. We may ask you to confirm your identity first, so we are not disclosing someone's information to the wrong person. If we cannot delete something because the law requires us to keep it, we will tell you which record and why.

9. If you are in the United Kingdom, the EU, or the EEA

The UK GDPR and the EU GDPR apply to us where we offer services to, or monitor the behaviour of, people in those territories. We do not track anyone and we monitor nobody's behaviour anywhere, so in practice the question arises only when you write to us. Rather than argue about scope, we apply the standards below to everyone who contacts us, wherever they are.

Our lawful bases

• Legitimate interests — replying to an enquiry you sent us, keeping a record of our business correspondence, and keeping the site available and secure. We think you would expect all three, and none of them override your own interests or rights.
• Legal obligation — where we are required to retain a commercial record, or to respond to a lawful request.
• Consent — not currently relied on anywhere, because nothing on this site requires it. If that changes we will ask first, and you will be able to withdraw at any time without affecting anything done beforehand.

Your rights

Alongside the rights in the previous section, you have the right to restrict processing, the right to object to processing carried out on the basis of legitimate interests, and the right to receive what you gave us in a portable, machine-readable form. Automated decisions

We do not carry out automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal effects for you, or that affects you significantly in a similar way.

Complaints

If you think we have handled your information badly, please tell us first — we would rather fix it. You are entitled to go to a regulator instead. In the United Kingdom that is the Information Commissioner's Office; in the EU or EEA it is the supervisory authority for the country where you live, where you work, or where you believe the problem happened.

10. Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Access to our mailbox and to the systems holding correspondence is restricted and protected by strong authentication. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your information, we will tell you.

11. Where information is held

We operate from Pakistan. The hosting and email services we use may store information on servers outside Pakistan. Where that happens, we rely on providers offering recognised safeguards.

12. Legal framework

We handle personal information in line with Pakistan's data protection and electronic transactions framework as it applies to us, and with the principles those rules reflect: collect only what is needed, use it only for the purpose it was given, keep it accurate and secure, retain it no longer than necessary, and respect the rights of the person it belongs to. Where a customer's obligations are stricter, we work to the stricter standard.

13. Children

This site and our services are directed at businesses, not children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under eighteen. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

14. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will publish the revised version here and update the date at the top. Material changes will be described in plain language, not buried in a redline.
